Role of IP professionals

The intellectual property is an intangible part of a company. It comprises various forms of statutory mark like Patents, Trade Marks, Copyrights, Industrial Designs, Plant varieties, topographies of printed circuits, geographical indications. Also, there are non-statutory intellectual properties like trade secrets, confidential information, trade dress, the equitable right to prevent 'passing off’, etc. Hence, the companies have the requirement of an IP professional, who can take care of their intellectual properties and assets.
